Life in West Palm Beach, Florida

Eric Keinonen currently resides in West Palm Beach in the Sunshine State. He gets to enjoy the city’s grand, warm weather, beautiful white sandy beaches, and ocean sunsets. West Palm Beach is ideal for Eric’s fitness and outdoor lifestyle, as he exercises daily and takes advantage of long beach runs and paddleboarding.

Eric enjoys taking day trips and travelling. With West Palm Beach as his home base, he’s close to several other popular cities in Florida. Boca Raton is only 30 minutes away, and Miami is less than a two-hour drive. Eric can also make his way to Lake Okeechobee in about 60 to 70 minutes and travel across the state to Fort Myers in under three hours. From there, he visits the beautiful beaches of Sanibel and Captiva Islands.

Living in Florida also allows Eric to easily visit nearby states, such as hiking in the mountains of North Georgia.

Eric Keinonen enjoys West Palm Beach’s local restaurants, which serve Cuban, Mexican, Italian, Asian, and French cuisine. He also takes advantage of the area’s cultural scene and passion for the arts, visiting the Norton Museum of Art, the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, and the various art galleries that feature local artists.

Eric’s Education

Eric attended the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orange County, Florida. UCF is a public research university and part of the State University System of Florida. The university was founded in 1963 to offer talent for Central Florida and the developing United States space program. Since then, UCF has had a significant impact on the state, the nation, and space. It’s comprised of thirteen colleges and offers about 240 degree programs.

Growing Up in Wellington, Florida

Eric hails from Wellington, Florida, located about 30 miles west of West Palm Beach in Palm Beach County and about 70 miles from Miami. Wellington is part of the Miami metropolitan area and the fifth-largest municipality in Palm Beach County by population. Wellington is known for its family-oriented community, laidback lifestyle, and suburban feel, and it is one of the most affluent cities in Florida. In 2024, it ranked one of the best places in the United States to live for families.

Wellington boasts a 65-mile bridle trail system, a 30-acre wetlands park, and an environmental preserve with 365 acres of trails for hiking and horseback riding. It also has top-notch sporting clubs and excellent schools. It was a great place for Eric to grow up and nurture his love of the outdoors and adventure.

One of Eric’s significant influencers and inspirations was his centenarian grandmother.
